Jewelry pieces at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week fall-winter 2016-2017
Annual Fashion Week of Pret-a-porter and Haute Couture was held in Paris, in the world capital of fashion and style. This week was full of other interesting activities.
"Golden Oats" at the Vendom Square
Famous and important jewellery brands showcased their new collections, unusually and extravagantly making out the window displays of their boutiques and nearby areas.
Many designers have focused on the theme of the nature this year, praising wheat as a main idea. Once you are on the Place Vendome, an unusual scene is opened to your eyes: the entire square has become a field of golden wheat. This is an installation ingeniously invented by a famous contemporary artist Gad Weil, commissioned by Chanel to mark the launch of the new High Jewellery collection-Les Bles de Chanel. This project calls on us to love the nature, pay a tribute to it and never forget that we completely depend on it. Everybody was trying to be the first to publish selfies and photos taken there. Smartly decorated windows overlooked the square, attracting attention.
Many jewellery houses arranged a kind of "open days" for the fashion critics, bloggers and media representatives.
Magnificent bracelets with natural feathers and precious stones
And what was very important, that the designers themselves were present at the events and told about their updates which is very valuable and reliable information from the first persons that do not require further refinements and adjustments.
One of the trends of this season was the use of unusual materials and techniques; the preferences were given to blackened and rhodium plated gold, the use of real feathers or ebony mounted on gold.
Emerald & Ebony Faceted Ring
Green Turquoise & Tourmaline Ring
There were many items featuring animalier so called “Cabinet de Curiosites” and nature, celebrating Mediterranean landscape and its uncomparable richness .The Italian high jewelry house sparkled with bright colors, was full of energy and didn’t leave indifferent.
There were a lot of discoveries, new solutions in design. A new jewellery brand from Japan pleasantly surprised with their courage and eccentricity. They created a collection named Ritz Paris, dedicated to the opening of the boutique at the Ritz hotel. Delicate taste, inherent in Japanese culture and craftsmanship of jewelers create a magnificent and unique atmosphere. Also in the shopping gallery of the Ritz hotel visitors could find many other important and well-known brands.
These delightful creatures that are no longer just ornaments, but works of art, waiting for their owners, sparkle under the bright light of bulbs in the window displays. You can look at them endlessly and only guess how the designers manage to find so many ideas and turn them into reality.
